Uploading files to the POVnet ----------------------------- If you want to submit something to the POVnet archives, please obey these rules: a) DO NOT UPLOAD ANY STOLEN COPIES OF COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT MUST NOT BE PUBLICALLY AVAILABLE. Such uploads will be deleted immediately. b) Put your uploads to this directory: for ftp.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de: /pub/pov-ray/new for wuarchive.wustl.edu: /graphics/graphics/ray/pov/pov-dkb-archive/incoming ^^^^ <- Note the new partial path in here ! Uploads to wuarchive get mirrored to Oldenburg every night, but will not be visible here until I assorted them to the proper directories. c) Write a .readme file accompanying the archive - e.g. if you want to upload 'dta30.zip', also upload a file 'dta30.readme' that has the following format: --- template of a .readme file - cut here ---- Short: Type: Author: Uploader: ---- end of template - cut here ------- Example: ----- example for dta30.readme --------------- Short: V3.0 of Dave's TGA Animator, supports bla Type: edit/pc Author: David K. Mason Uploader: Frank.Neumann@informatik.uni-oldenburg.de This is the brand-new, super duper version 3.0 of Dave's Targa Animator. It supports a couple of new file formats, is faster, has some bugs removed and is definitely worth getting it. Found on the Raytracing BBS Foobar ----- end of example ----------- In the Type: line you may write into which directory you think the upload should go. Check out the TREE file for an appropriate place. If everything went fine, you should see your upload in the 'RECENT' file a few days later. If not, feel free to ask me. If you have any questions or comments on these instructions, feel free to E-Mail me: Frank.Neumann@informatik.uni-oldenburg.de or try to catch me on IRC as 'Franky' (usually on #amigager)
