SHELXD Manual

SHELXD

SHELXD is a new structure solving package. It is primarily designed for large and macromolecues, though it will also work for small molecules. SHELXD is not part of the WinGX release, but beta-release executables for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 can be obtained from George Sheldrick. See the SHELX web-site for details :

The newest release of WinGX includes the menu item SHELXD, which allows access to a preliminary version of a GUI and is a convenient launching point for the SHELXD executable. To use SHELXD within the WinGX shell, obtain the program from George Sheldrick and place the SHELXD.EXE file in the WinGX foreign programs directory (default location - c:\wingx\for_prog).

The instruction file SHELXD.INS is prepared by the GUI and may be manually edited.
